The collaboration of friends Donovan and Zephyr has already spanned a lifetime. From their roots in rural Massachusetts, the enigmatic artists have remained steadfast and tightly connected. They now produce electronic music as ESP.
Their bond informs their music, with tracks built around shared experiences, inspirations and moments noticed. Vast sound worlds are distilled to their essential core, forming taught, electric compositions.
In 2020 the duo released their first album “Forever”, collaborations with Detroit techno producer John Beltran and French ambient artist Malibu on her acclaimed NTS Radio show United in Flames. Over the next few years they would cultivate a relationship with Swedish record label Year0001, leading them to contribute the track “North” to the Rift 02 Compilation, and later their second album “Promise”.
“Promise”, the ESP’s softmore album was released in August 2024 by Year0001, it features 8 tracks showcasing the evolution of the duo’s sound.

Appearing out of nowhere on lineups across Europe this year, their real identity remains unknown, adding to the intrigue surrounding this enigmatic artist. Little is known about artist beyond their ties to the elusive Speed Services platform, which has only deepened the mystery. Drawing from late-2000s progressive house icons like Deadmau5 and Kaskade, their sound—self-described as “music for sky bars”—is both nostalgic and refreshingly bold. In April, they dropped their debut EP Poser—a playful yet polished collection blending quirky sound design, bouncy bass and tender melodies.
